What we do

Darwish Construction & Finishing is a construction and finishing company. It carries out construction and contracting execution, produces construction-related and interior design, performs finishing and fit-out work including painting and decorative finishes, and sells and supplies the materials and tools that go into that work.

Holding these together rather than separately means the people specifying a finish and the people buying it are in the same conversation. Where a project needs only one of them, that is equally workable — the scope is agreed project by project.

How we prefer to work

These are the things we think are worth getting right on a finishing job. They describe how we would like a project to run, not a certified management system:

• Specify what can actually be bought. A finish schedule is only useful if the products on it can be obtained on the programme's timescale.
• Treat the substrate as part of the finish. A great many finishing problems start underneath the finish rather than in it.
• Look at a sample before committing. Colour, sheen and texture read differently at scale and in the light of the actual room.
• Put the scope in writing. Scope, materials and variations agreed in writing so both sides are working from the same document.
