Delivery

How we approach a project

General principles rather than a fixed procedure. How much of this applies depends on the scope agreed for the project.

Delivery principles

Seven things we pay attention to

These are principles, not a certified management system. They overlap in practice — material selection continues while early works start, and coordination runs through all of it.

Indicative — how much applies depends on the scope
  1. Planning

Understanding the space, the existing conditions and what you are trying to achieve, before anyone prices anything.

  2. Coordination

Keeping the parts of the work in step with each other across the scope we have been engaged to carry.

  3. Material selection

Choosing products against the substrate, the conditions and what can actually be obtained on the project's timescale.

  4. Execution

Carrying out the works to the drawings and specification agreed for the project.

  5. Quality awareness

Paying attention to substrate condition, compatibility between layers and how a surface will read once it is finished.

  6. Finishing

Preparation, base coats, finish coats and decorative work, with completed surfaces protected while other work continues around them.

  7. Handover

Snagging, making good, cleaning, and a walk-through of what was installed and what each finish needs by way of maintenance.

Scope

The kinds of work we take on

We take on complete projects and single scopes. Being clear about which one you need changes how a project is priced and who carries the coordination.

Engagement types and what each covers
Engagement What it covers
Design and build We design it, draw it, build it and finish it, to the extent the scope agreement sets out.
Construction execution You supply the design. We build to it and raise buildability issues as we find them.
Finishing and fit-out The structure exists. We prepare, finish and fit out the interior to an agreed specification.
Design only Construction-related, interior and decoration design, with material and finish selection.
Materials and tools supply Paints, decorative and finishing materials, execution materials and associated tools, supplied to a project we are not building.

What we would ask you for

  • Drawings, a finish schedule or a bill of quantities, if any exist
  • The condition of the space as it stands today
  • Which parts of the scope you want us to carry
  • Required dates and any access constraints
  • Any specification you are already committed to

Partial information is fine. We would rather start the conversation and fill the gaps than wait for a complete package.

Talk to us about a scope

The fastest way to find out what we can carry on your project is to describe it. Send what you have and we will come back with what we would cover and what we would need from you.

Discuss a project

Tell us what you are building

Send the scope, the drawings, or just the question. We will tell you what we can execute, what we would supply, and what we would need from you to price it.
